Understanding ResearchWise Sheet
The ResearchWise sheet is a Microsoft Excel based template provided by ANALEC for uploading the information. This database template contains all the important financial & Static data fields to be uploaded into the system.

There are two different types of ResearchWise sheets:
  1. Industrial ResearchWise sheet contains data fields pertaining to the industrial sector companies (viz. Utilities, Telecommunications, Infrastructure, Pharmaceuticals, and Consumer Goods etc.).
  2. REIT ResearchWise sheet contains data fields pertaining to the Real Estate Investment Trust sector companies (viz. Real Estate etc.).

The ResearchWise sheet is linked to the financial model before the data is uploaded into the central database.

Linking ResearchWise Sheet to Financial Model
In order to upload the financial model data into the central database, the ResearchWise sheet/template must be linked to the financial model built by the user/analyst. The procedure of linking the financial model to the ResearchWise template is outlined below.

1) Open the excel financial model of a company and the respective ResearchWise Sheet. Once the ResearchWise sheet opens, right click on the worksheet name and select ‘Move or Copy…’ option.

2) The pop-up appears on the screen, as shown below. Select the financial model from the “To Book” drop down as the destination to copy the sheet. Select “Create a copy” option and click on OK.

3) The RESEARCHWISE spreadsheet has now been added to the company’s financial model.
Note: Please DO NOT change the name of the RESEARCHWISE sheet since the ANALEC Verifier recognizes the RESEARCHWISE sheet by its default name only.

Items for Estimates Changes section:
This section is for choosing the items that you wish to retrieve under the "Estimates Changes" section on the Front Page of the Company Note. System will compare these numbers with live source (previous data) numbers and populate the Growth/Change Percentage.
1. Enter the code of the item in Column D that you wish to retrieve in the report. For e.g., if you wish to retrieve Sales and estimate changes in "Sales" as the first item, then enter the code for Sales i.e.,"@BBIK0265".
2. Items entered here will appear in the same order in the report. For e.g., if code for Sales is entered against ECItem1 and code for EBIT is entered against ECItem2, the section in the Company Note will have Sales as first item and then EBIT.
3. You need to input at least 1 item and a maximum of 3 items for this section. If you wish to have less items, simply leave them blank here.

Items for Key Data section: - Single Data Point Items & CAGR Items
This section is for choosing the items that you wish to retrieve under the "Key Data" section on the Front Page of the Company Note. There are two kinds of data items within this section in the report:
      a) Single Data Point Items - These are items for which you simply wish to retrieve the value of the first forecast year for e.g., P/BV or Net Debt/Equity. All you need to do is enter the codes of the items you wish to retrieve. For e.g., if you wish to retrieve P/BV then enter "@BBIK0195".
      b) CAGR Items - These are items for which you wish to retrieve the CAGR percentage in the report based on the start/end year defined by you as well as your item selection.
Items entered here i.e., both sections will appear in the same order in the report. You need to input at least 1 item and a maximum of 4 items. You can however choose which items between these two sections you want in any combination for e.g., All 4 Single Data Point Items or All 4 CAGR Items or 2 from each section and so on. Please note the system would automatically remove the extra items from the report, if more than 4 are provided.

Items for Front Page
This section is for choosing the items that you wish to retrieve on the Front Page table of the Company Note.
Enter the code of the item in Column D that you wish to retrieve in the report. For e.g., if you wish to retrieve "Sales" as the first item, then enter "@BBIK0265".
Items entered here will appear in the same order in the report. For e.g., if code for Sales is entered against Item 1 and code for EBIT is entered against Item 2, the table in the Company Note will have Sales as first item and then EBIT.
You can choose to have a maximum of 20 items on the Front Page Table, however, if you wish to have less items, simply leave them blank here i.e., if you wish to have 15 items, just enter the code for first 15 items here.

Upload ResearchWise Financial Model
Open the linked Financial model and login to ResearchWise. Under the ANALEC ResearchWise tab, click on Quick Verification dropdown and select the option 'Stepwise Verification' to upload the financial model for the stock.

Verification and Integrity Check
The first step in the verification process asks user to select the forecast source in which numbers will be uploaded. Draft forecast source is analyst specific work area and information uploaded in this source is not visible externally.

Select ‘Draft Forecast Source’ and click ‘Ok’ to proceed to the next stage where system would carry out mandatory error & integrity checks as shown in screenshot below. Information uploaded on Live forecast source is visible to all the ResearchWise users as well as external clients. Therefore, the users are given access to upload their model only to the Draft Source.

Errors and Warnings
Once the integrity checks are complete, all Errors and Warnings associated with the model would appear.
Errors are the accounting inaccuracies in the financial model that must be rectified before the data is allowed to be uploaded into the Central Database.
Warnings are the accounting inaccuracies in the financial model which are not mandated to rectify before model upload as warnings will not stop the model from uploading into the Central Database.
Click on the ResearchWise Tab to view the error and warnings in a quick view mode.

Press the button ‘Export to worksheet’ to see the details of ‘Errors & Warnings’ and to export them to a separate excel sheet.

Successful Model Upload
After correction of errors user needs to initiate the process again and need to press the ‘Post Update’ button to upload the numbers into the database.

As soon as ‘Post Update’ button is clicked, system will display the screen; Data from the selected ResearchWise sheets will be uploaded to database.

Comparison of data in a ResearchWise Model with data in the Live Source.
If we want to compare the numbers with the Live numbers (the numbers from the report which was published last time and are publically available) already available in the database then click on ‘Compare to Live’. It will show the below screen asking you to insert the Tolerance % for the comparison and the name of the comparison sheet.
After you click on ‘Show Changes’ it will show a confirmation message and open the comparison sheet in the existing ResearchWise sheet when you click on ‘Close’.
